From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Flying in heavy snow. Lost power IFR at night. Hit trees landing. Iced induction system. Failed use alternate air. (-23) aircraft departed the central Wisconsin airport (cwa) bound for tulsa, ok at approximately 1730 (LCL). About 45 minutes into flight, the pilot noticed a loss of power from the left engine. While trying to restore power to the left engine, the right engine failed. Attempts to restore power to either engine were unsuccessful. Pilot maintained control of the aircraft until it struck the treetops and crashed. The pilot was rendered unconscious after hitting trees, but prior to impact with ground.
