From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: student and instructor on a multiengine training flight attempted to land without extending the landing gear. When the props contacted the runway the instructor executed a go-around. The instructor lowered the landing gear normally and returned to land without further incident. Neither the instructor nor the student made any verbal callout to verify gear extension before the attempted landing. By selecting landing gear to neutral, (instead of down), and advancing the throttle out of the micro-switches, it is possible to misinterpret hand motion and a silent horn for gear-down. The instructor conceded the gear must not have been extended prior to the attempted landing. The instructor was re-examined on 1-12-96. privacy data omitted Incident closed with this report.

As the FAA filed it

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ INCIDENT CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.
