From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: aircraft N50DB, a Cessna 210-L was piloted by david sulhoff on 01-18-96, when the engine failed to provide power for continued flight. Mr sulhoff landed the aircraft on Missouri highway 68, approximately 4 miles north of the city of Salem, Missouri. Investigation revealed that the aircraft suffered minor damage to nose gear and right main gear. Draining fuel from the left main tank, left header tank, and right header tank appeared normal. The right wing tank would drain fuel at a reduced flow. The gascolator was frozen and nothing would drain. Heat was applied to the general area until the bowl assembly could be removed. There was a block of ice filling the inside of the gascolator. After removal of the ice and the bowl assembly was reinstalled, the aircraft was run up normally. Incident is closed with this report.
