From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: at 11:45, February 5, 1996, a Cessna T210, registration number N210TT, piloted by john b. campregher, certificate number 555667259, made a gear up landing on runway 25R, while making touch and go landings at Long Beach airport. Pilot stated that while on approach to the airport he placed the landing gear handle to the down position and heard the motor working that controls the gear. He further stated that he observed that the red light for the gear position was illuminated, which meant that the gear was down and made a landing on 25R. After contact with the runway the pilot realized the gear was not down. The aircraft contacted the runway approximately 600 feet. At this time the pilot was asked to make a written statement which he did. Pilot stated that he was the sole occupant and was not injured. Damage to the aircraft was limited to the lower fuselage skin, propeller and NLG door. Aircraft was lifted from the runway and gear was selected to the down position. All gear came down & locked position. Instructed pilot to press to test the landing gear, green, down and locked light assembly. Pilot seemed unaware of the function of this particular light assembly.. Green down and locked light illuminated when touched. Aircraft was removed from runway at 13:15 p.m.
