From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the pilot states that the preflight was interrupted for several minutes because he left the aircraft. When he returned he did not complete the preflight and did not visually check the fuel quantity. The pilot stated that during cruise flight the engine began to run unevenly, indicating fuel starvation. He decided to land the aircraft prior to fuel exhaustion. An uneventful landing was performed on a levee with no damage to the aircraft or property. The pilot states that he intends to enroll in a retraining course to raise his level of safety standards.
