From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: BTA3335 was level at 3000 feet inbound to Newark (ewr) airport approximately two nautical miles south of sparta (sax) VOR. BTA3335 climbed to 3500 feet in response to a TCAS resolution advisory, apparently caused by an unknown VFR aircraft at 3200 feet. BTA3335 came within 500 feet vertically of N2654V, an IFR C177 northbound at 4000 feet. C2XA advised the teb FSDO that all information was required to go through their poi in houston SW-09. We had called and then sent the attached fax. To date, we have not received a response. Incident closed.
