From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Engine quit on spray run. Nosed over landing in soft wet field. (-23) at approximately 0830 on may 25, 1996 (sat), during aerial application, at an altitude of 200', the engine on N48518 quit. The pilot made an emergency landing in a wet crp (crop reserve program) field. During the landing, the aircraft rolled about 100', with the main landing gear wheels sinking about 10" into the wet field. As the aircraft stopped, it rotated longitudinally in the same direction as the landing, and ended up upside down. The horizontal stabilizer and vertical stabilizers were substantially damaged. The upper wing has some damage, but it could have been caused by the salvage operation.
