From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: Mr. Edwin shaffer, certificate number 1415902 reported on landing roll out, the right wing dipped and the nose gear skipped to the right, causing the aircraft to come to rest in a cornfield. Mr. Shaffer indicated that the right landing gear had failed. Damage to the aircraft was limited to right landing gear, propeller and minor right wing tip fabric tears. The owner will be contacting the aircraft kit manufacturer. He will be replacing the landing gear structure aluminum material with chromemoly steel tubing and the relocation of safety-cable attachments.
