From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: on 7-16-96 aircraft departed frg at 0845 on an IFR flight to msv. Shortly after takeoff electrical problems were experienced and pilot returned to frg with lost communications. His landing gear was inoperative so he manually cranked down the landing gear. Due to electrical problems pilot said he was unable to determine by lights if gear was down and locked but he looked in the mirror and saw the main gear fully extended. Upon touchdown the nose gear collapsed. Aircraft sustained minor damage. Raytheon aircraft service inspected the electrical system and stated that the electric voltage regulator had failed. Inspection indicated the gear was not cranked down all the way. Findings: electrical failure resulted in landing gear malfunctioning. privacy data omitted
