From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Narrative: pilot made an emergency landing due to an unsafe NLG indication - NLG stuck in the up position, would not extend - resulting in damage to the nose radome and NLG doors only. Inspection of the NLG system revealed a sheared NLG channel bolt (AN4-7A) possibly caused by a deformed channel (p/n 95394-00). The defective channel may have caused the forward bolt to shear, turning the channel, then preventing the NLG actuator (channel) ball from full travel by jamming against the side of the channel - preventing normal - NLG extension. Incident closed.
