From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the pilot stated that during cruise he thought that the engine was running rough and or malfunctioning. As a result, he elected to make an emergency landing in a wheat and corn field. On landing, the nosegear collapsed and the fiberglas fuselage was cracked. It was noted that the fuel tank was observed as three quarters full. This incident and report is closed. The pilot stated that the test engine run was satisfactory after the landing and that he will perform additional tests on the engine.
