From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: flight originated at tok junction, medivac flight life or death situation, at approximate 0300 hours. Pilot preparing for landing at merrill field slowed aircraft to 140 mph selected gear down and only got two green lights, pilot then used operators manual, slowed aircraft to 120 mph tried hand pump to no avail. Pilot called Anchorage approach reported situation and requested fly by of the tower, because of traffic he flew past the tower at 1,000 ft. and the tower could not see the gear, so he flew by again and this time the tower thought they could see two gear but was not sure, third try the tower thought they saw all three hanging down, then the aircraft flew down runway 14 with the fire crews watching and they thought they saw three gear hanging down, final pass was made and pilot landed on right and nose gear held it there as long as possible and finally settled on left gear, taxied to stop. Pilot examined gear made sure it was in the locked position and taxied to signature hangar. 08-16-96 pilot got ferry permit to fly from anc to aero twin inc. at mri. Aero twin inc. wo 10413/N87TS found l/h main gear down lock frozen up.
