From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-16) While in cruise flight at FL 330, the crew received multiple cargo fire/smoke warnings from sensors mounted overhead in the cabin. The crew accomplished an emergency descent and diverted to Newburgh, NY. The aircraft was subsequently destroyed by fire following a normal landing. On scene investigation disclosed the possible origination point of the fire to be from cargo container 6R located on the right side overwing. Further testing and chemical analysis will be conducted on a "dna synthesizer" unit discovered in container 6R where the fire is suspected to have begun. There is no evidence indicating a malfunction of any aircraft component or system.
