From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: while conducting solo cross country requirement, student pilot experienced rough engine operation during departure from crw. Pilot requested and received ATC clearance for return to airport. A/c landed without further incident. Inspection of aircraft revealed engine fuel primer lines had fractured and separated at #2 & #4 cylinder head fittings, causing extreme lean fuel/air mixture. Copper primer lines separated at soldered joint to threaded connector. Failure consistent with cyclic fatigue. Component time in service: 5554.0 hrs estimated. 8010-4 malfunction defect report submitted to AFS-640.
