From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the pilot engaged the autopilot after takeoff from binghamton, NY while climbing to 17,000 ft in VMC. After reaching 17,999 ft. the autopilot disconnected, was reset, and disconnected again for unknown reasons. Shortly thereafter, the interior lights went out as all electrical power was lost. The pilot does not remember any annunciator lights on before the power went off. While operating landing at Albany, NY. Rather than trying to reset the generators, the pilot elected to use emergency procedures for landing gear extension. An uneventful landing was made at Albany. After landing, the generators were reset and the electrical system appeared to work normally. Maintenance checked the system and found a faulty ammeter select switch. No other discrepancies were noted. This matter is closed.
