From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: on February 5, 1997, at 0948 CST, a falcon jet, model 900EX, N030L, departed Little Rock airport for first test flight. During climb, the crew detected small traces of smoke from cockpit. The pilot made a precautionary landing back to lit airport. The aircraft then landed without incident. Upon inspection, the cause was determined to be the windshield heat solenoid nut that was loose. Maintenance corrected problem by torquing the terminal nut. No other action needed. Report closed.
