What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Narrative: during approach gear extended, red nose light indicated. Pilot recycled gear, all green lights with indicator pin up. Upon landing, nose gear collapsed. Passengers deplaned through rear exit doors. Gear doors, and underside of fuselage damaged approximately 5 feet behind nose gear. The down lock over center link fracture in half. The down lock indicator pin on pilot's console indicated down lock actuator in "down & lock" position, but the "lower part" of link fractured, thereby producing an unlock condition. Preliminary visual inspection of link indicates possible fatigue failure. Note that AD 97-02-10 was issued 02/11/97. Pmi notified of incident. This incident closed.
