From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: aircraft had departed warsaw, IN. And when the gear was selected up a loud bang was heard. The gear transition light remained illuminated. When the gear was selected in the down position a green safe could not be obtained. The emergency procedures would also not allow a safe indication . The pilot elected to land at palwaukee airport wheeling, IL. The nose gear collapsed upon landing causing minor damage to the propeller and gear doors. No fire nor injuries. Subsequent investigation revealed the nose gear linkage broken at the control rod end. The rod end had failed in the bearing case area causing the rod to be disconnected. Further investigation indicated this to be the wrong rod end for the applied load.
