From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: SDR will be submitted after vendor inspection and testing of generator and csd. On climb out from oak the #3 generator field relay opened and would not reset. In cruise flight inbound to 1 ln #3 fire warning activated. The engine was shut down and the fire bottle discharged. The aircraft landed at iln without incident. It is believed the #3 csd locked up causing the overspeed and mechanical failure of the #3 generator. The csd and generator have been sent to vendors for inspection and testing.
