From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Some objects were observed to have been flying from the runway threshold area where the aircraft first contacted the runway. It was later discovered that the aircraft had contacted a threshold light on landing. There was debris from the damaged threshold light on the runway and in the immediate vicinity of the area around the threshold light. The pilot returned the aircraft to the FBO which had rented him the aircraft, paid for the rental of the aircraft, and departed without notifying anyone about what had happened.
