From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: this incident occured during part 61 student solo cross country flight. The student was originally cleared to land runway 30L at Williams Gateway Airport. While on a right base leg, the tower then cleared the aircraft to land 30C. The student landed the aircraft with the landing gear in the retracted position, causing substantial damage to the aircraft. When the aircraft was raised and the landing gear extended, the gear operated normally. The student admitted he was confused due to the last minute change of runway and inadvertently landed gear up.
