From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: a delta L-1011 was taxiing to the gate at Denver International Airport, when the right wing of the L-1011 clipped the left horizontal stabilizer of a delta B-757. Prior to the incident, the L-1011 had stopped behind a delta B-757 that was preparing for departure. Wing walkers were in place, and a ramp supervisor (watching the right wing) gave the approval for the L-1011 to make a left turn into the gate. The impact occurred as the L-1011 made the left turn. Cause of the impact was contributed to the ramp supervisor's error in judgment. This case is closed. No further action taken.
