From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Landed on nose. Porpoised. Varied flaps on go around. Lost lift increased drag settled into cornfield off runway. (-23) the aircraft bounced on landing and the pilot initiated a go around. He applied full power and carburator heat. While varying flaps up and down, the aircraft left the ground but did not climb. The aircraft flew beyond the end of the runway and settled into a corn field several yards away. The pilot was trying to make the wheat field just beyond the corn.
