From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: aircraft N3178A departed hope, Arkansas on an IFR flight plan to Conroe, Texas. One pilot and two passengers were on board, somewhere between Arkansas and Texas, the aircraft experienced a total electrical failure. Upon reaching Conroe, the pilot had to do a manual extension of the landing gear. The pilot was not sure whether the gear was completely down, so he flew the airplane over Conroe airport where someone did a visual check of the gear. The pilot, after hearing that the gear appeared down, landed the aircraft. The gear folded up as the aircraft weight was placed on the wheels. No injuries occurred to pilot or passengers. privacy data omitted
