From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: during an instructional flight the student pilot was completing the third landing. The student and instructor stated that the landing gear was lowered, but neither could confirm the gear was down due to the sun's angle on the indicator lights. The airplane was approaching the runway when the instructor took control and commenced a go-around. Both pilots heard a scraping sound, however, the airplane continued to fly normally. A fly-by was conducted for ground observation. No damage was observed and an uneventful landing was completed. This incident is closed with this report.
