From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the aircraft was on final descent into los angeles international airport, los angeles, CA when the flight crew turned on the navigation lights. The ac bus tie #1 iso light came on which resulted in a loss of all associated instrumentation. During the final approach the los angeles tower asked the aircraft to make a go-around due to traffic on the runway. At this time, the flight crew requested a diversion to Ontario International Airport because of the weather at los angeles international airport, their amount of fuel remaining, and the electrical problems with the aircraft. The flight crew then declared an emergency and asked for direct heading to Ontario airport, Ontario, CA. The aircraft landed at Ontario airport without further incident. The after landing investigation revealed that the electrical failure was caused by a faulty circuit breaker. It was replaced and the aircraft departed on 11-20-97. This incident is closed.

As the FAA filed it
