From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: on December 1, 1997, at approximately 1930 MST, aerolitoral (lvqf) flight 2607 began takeoff roll. Just before the aircraft reached V1, the tires on the left main gear failed. The crew aborted takeoff and returned the aircraft to the gate. The brake and rim assembly incurred sufficient damage to cause brake parts to fly into the propeller which knocked them into the fuselage penetrating the skin in two places. There were no injuries. The aircraft was taken out of service after which the left main gear, engine, and propeller were replaced. The aircraft was ferried to the company maintenance base for repairs. File closed.
