From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: N10QB was on approach to Norfolk, NE airport when the pilot was unable to get the gear down. He executed a go around and attempted to get the gear down using the emergency procedures, but was unsuccessful because the gear handle would only go from the up position to the center position. The gear handle must be in the down position for the emergency system to work. The mechanic who prepared the aircraft for ferry flight stated they could not get the gear handle to the down position and it felt spongy. They applied force to the gear handle, heard a pop and the gear went down. Later the aircraft was put on jacks and the gear performed properly and there was no detectable leaks, etc. The hydraulic power pack was sent to be overhauled. The overhaul report showed normal wear. The cause of the gear handle sticking has not been determined.
