From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: on 1/29/98, instructor and student departed avp for cross-country phase check. During the flight, a diversion was given by instructor to go to spring hill airport. After locating spring hill, a simulated engine failure was executed and attempted to land. Prior to touchdown, both pilots felt a thump under the a/c and a "go around" was executed. A/c flew ok but pilots noticed right flap was dented and no hyd. Brake pressure on right gear. Flew a/c to avp and tower indicated right gear was missing. Landed a/c on runway 28 without injuries or a/c damage.
