From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: while during cruise flight from sdl to sez at 7,500' MSL approximately 16 NM north of Carefree, the oil pressure gauge went to "0". I turned 180 degree and the plane ran normally for approximately 17 NM. While just south of ski ranch airport, the plane began to shudder with abrupt loss of RPM. I shut down the engine, secured the plane, circled and then landed at sky ranch. Oil had completely coated this plane's underside. Engine 1725 smoh threw a rod causing power loss.
