From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: during take-off and upon rotation the pilot stated the aircraft appeared extremely heavy and did not want to rotate as it normally does. The aircraft had just come out of an annual inspection. The pilot feared there was a serious problem that would effect flying safely. He retarded the throttle and the aircraft began to porpoise. Speed at rotation was 79KTS IAS. On the second oscillation the nose gear impacted the runway and crash trucks were on the scene immediately. The aircraft was taken to north coast aviation for inspection. An inspection of the aircraft was conducted. There was no malfunction noted. It was revealed that if the autopilot was to be engaged the controls became very heavy. privacy data omitted
