From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 3/24/98, the pilot indicated that on the approach to landing at fxe, he did not receive a down and lock indication on the left main gear. He informed the tower, and requested a fly-by. A fly-by was performed to which the tower reported the gear seemed to be down and locked. He declared an emergency and on final approach for runway 26, on touch down the left main collapsed. Inspection of the aircraft revealed that the left main gear down lock assembly broke. Alternate method of lowering th egear was not possible due to jamming of broken piece in wheel well.
