From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the pilot stated that Ms. Levy was attempting cross wind maneuvers, approaches, and landings at vpz. During one of the landing attempts, she was forced down and off runway center line by a strong gust of wind striking a runway light. She thought the wind gust was a wind shear. She declared an emergency and proceeded to an airport that had an active tower for a fly over inspection of the landing gear. She landed without further incident at sbn. An inspection of the aircraft revealed a dent to the nose wheel torque link and left flap. privacy data omitted
