What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
On final approach the pilot stated that his radios were getting weak, he could not hear him. Tower cleared him to land and he responded by rocking his wings as instructed by tower. The pilot selected gear down and noted that the gear lights did not illuminate. The pilot then selected the emergency gaer release and assumed that the gear extended. On short final the tower noted that the gear was not extended and gave the "red gun" signal. The pilot stated that he missed the signal and landed the aircraft gear up.
