From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Acft landed, went through a wooden fence, and came to rest in a residents swimming pool, colllinsville, OK. (.4) during the landing roll on a grass runway, the student pilot was distracted by an air force Boeing 707 flying overhead. When the pilot looked back to where he was going, he saw that the airplane was `too close' to the airport property line. He applied the brakes and the `aircraft started to move to the right.' He noticed that he was heading for a birdhouse and `firewalled' the throttle and tried to turn the airplane; however, the airplane continued on a `straight line going toward the birdhouse.' The airplane hit the birdhouse, went through a fence, and came to a stop in a residential swimming pool. (-23) after landing and during roll-out pilot diverted attention to a non-conflicting aircraft. Upon returning attention to his aircraft he noted that he was heading toward personal residences adjacent to runway. He then added power in the belief that he would turn. The aircraft continued off course, went through a birdhouse and fence ending up in a property owner's swimming pool.
