From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Acft landed hard, the landing gear broke, and the wings and propeller sustained damage. (-23) on touchdown pilot in control thought the aircraft was not in a good position so added power, became airborne and drifted right. Pilot in control used incorrect crosswind technique thereby aggravating the situation. (.4) the pilot stated that she was unable to maintain proper alignment with the runway due to a crosswind. She attempted to abort the landing adding power and reducing the flaps. Aircraft control was lost. The airplane exited the runway, crossed a taxiway, and proceeded approximately 600 feet through a grassy area. The airplane then turned left where the left main landing gear and nose gear collapsed.

As the FAA filed it
