From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-5)N6076E departed (ues) on 10/14/98 at 12:20 CDT, on a instrument training flight. The pilots claim that they heard a loud clunk on departure. He then flew to west bena airport (etb) for one IFR approach. From etb they flew to Milwaukee Timmerman field (mwc) for a VOR 15L instrument approach with a planned full stop landing. The landing was good until the nose wheel touched down and the nose gear collapsed causing the propeller to strike the ground.
