What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Acft ground looped on landing, acft landed on and bent its left wing. (-23) weather was VFR with 4 knots of wind. Following tailwheel touch down on landing, the pilot attempted to stop a left drift on runway by applying right rudder resulting in a ground loop and damage to the left wing of the aircraft. Pilot and passengers heard a metallic "clink" on takeoff from departure airport. A tailwheel or brake malfunction was suspect. However, both were checked and found to be functional.
