From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During touch and go at gullespie field (see), el cajon, CA, the pilots heard a noise coming from the nose landing gear. The aircraft proceeded to Montgomery field (myf) San Diego, CA. With the emergency gear extension activated and a tower fly by confirmed that the nose wheel was missing. The aircraft engines were feathered at about 5 to 10 feet AGL before touch down on runway 28R. At the point of touch down, the pilot noticed right wing droop and selected landing gear up to minimize aircraft damage. The nose and right landing gear collapsed and the aircraft skidded for about 275 feet and came to rest on the right side edge of runway 28R. The aircraft sustained minor damage and there was no aircraft fluid leakage. There was no injuries to the pilots.
