From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Lt eng had power surge (tried to overboost) approx. 1500FT. After t.o. from vee pwr pulled by throttle smoothed, continued our flight to clk, at altitude lt eng. Had pwr loss but again smoothed out. Diverted flight to fyn, ceiling there 1500 ft, noted oil coming out top cowl vent, shut down lt eng, due to low ceiling at fyn, diverted flight to fai. Single eng, air temp at altitude was approx 30F, could not find warmer air. On landing fai lt eng outbd side cowl was covered in oil. Only slight amt on top vent which pilot could have seen. When cowl opened nothing obvious, the eng oil separator was check and found iced up and pumped oil out of prop seal. 6QTS left in engine. No engine damage.
