From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-5)Pilot attempted landing on runway 4 with wind from 280 degrees gusting to 40 knots. He drifted off the runway, did a complete 180 degree turn in the dirt on the nosewheel and one main. Observers thought he was going to flip over. He was pulled back to the ramp where he bought fuel and loaded two passengers and luggage. During takeoff on the same runway, he drifted off the runway again, striking some runway lights while becoming airborne in the dirt and grass. He continued to cape girardeau for a landing with some damage to the aircraft.
