From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Prior to landing to toa, the pilot attempted several times to lower the landing gear and was unable to get the RH main gear to extend. He elected to land on the grass adjacent to runway 29R. There was minor damage to the aircraft consisting of propeller, RH and nose gear doors. Further investigating by mechanic, tom mccrae discovered that the RH main gear actuator, sincro devises, sfa 252-3 was severely corroded, resulting in the RH main gear's failture to extend. Mr. Mccrea submitted an m or d for the actuator.
