From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During cruise flight, the pilot heard a loud pop that he thought was a control cable striking the sides of the airframe. Three minutes later he heard the same sound and moved the control wheel and heard it once again. This time he became concerned and asked for ATC assistance. The pilot knew he was over an airfield and asked ATC for clearance. On approach, the control towed cleared the aircraft for an emergency landing. After engine shutdown, maintenance personnel inspected the aircraft and discovered loose electrical wiring connecting the anti-collision light power pack. The aircraft was repaired by maintenance personnel and flown back to it's home base. The owner promply submitted malfunction and defect report.
