From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-5) Hudson was conducting dual instruction with a former USAF military pilot who taxied the aircraft into a parked fuel truck while maneuvering around some drifted snow. The damage to the airplane included a hole in the plastic wingtip, leading edge damage to about six inches of the wing, and a bent rear spar, including some deformed ribs. Hudson plugged the hole with duct tape and conducted two instructional flights and a ferry flight to pittsburg, Kansas, for an annual inspection and repairs to the wing.
