What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
PIC was instructing a passenger, Mr. Robert craig, who holds no pilot certificate or student pilot medical certificate. While performing touch-and-go landings, the PIC allowed the passenger (who was at the controls) to get too low and too slow to arrest the rate of descent of the aircraft. The aircraft touched down short of the threshold of runway 09R (hwo) allowing the left main landing gear to catch the edge of the runway pavement, subsequently tearing the left main landing gear assembly from the aircraft. Collateral damage to the aircraft included damage to the belly mounted engine oil cooler assembly. There were no injuries reported. The aircraft sustained minor damage to the fuselage around the left main landing gear attach points. Aircraft repaired and approved for return to service per FAA form 337 dated 02 July, 1999.
