From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) Aircraft hit by sudden gusty crosswind during landing roll causing wing to come up and resulting in prop strike but did not hit wing as previously reported. Instructor pilot reported that a similar incident happened to the same aircraft a month earlier. He stated that aircraft felt "a little squirrely" but was unsure of the reason. He had also flown twice before on this day in two other aircraft and had no problems - even in gusty wind conditions. Will have poi (cawthra) follow-up and see if aircraft has any further problems.
