From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During takeoff the pilot noticed a telephone wire falling away as if it had been cut so he landed the aircraft without incident. After landing the pilot did a brief walk around of the aircraft and noticed no damage to the aircraft. He flew the aircraft home without incident (about 1 mile). After arriving at home, a more detailed inspection revealed that there was some damage to the prop and the pilot notified the FAA. The pilot also stated that he did two visual scans of the area before operating the aircraft. He said that he did not see the wire because they blended in with a barn roof in the area.
