From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot stated that he departed provo, UT, for wellston, OK, with a stop for fuel at lamar, CO. He also stated that he was flying at approximately 1000 ft. AGL, keeping under the clouds when his engine quit. The pilot stated that the left fuel tank was selected, and it may have run out of fuel. He stated that he was too low to switch tanks and restart, so he picked a gravel street to land on, but landed short in a wheat field. On the scene investigation revealed that both tanks appeared to be empty and when battery power was applied, propeller and lower fuselage skin.
