From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Acft right main landing gear collapsed on landing. (-23)on takeoff out asg, the r/h MLG strut piston retaining snaping was probably liberated from its groove in the upper part of the strut piston, allowing the r/h strut to over extended to maximum travel the r/h strut torue links would allow. On retraction, the over extended landing gear probably jammed on the inboard MLG door. The gear motor continued to run, damaging the retract torquetube and associated links. The gear was re-extended, but would not lock down due to the damage actuating mechanism. The aircraft returned to asg, where upon touchdown, the r/h MLG collapsed. The aircraft skidded to a stop, injuring none of the three persons onboard. The strut retaining snaping and its associated bearing seem to be in normal serviceable condition. The strut piston snaping groove may have very sightly chamfered edges. (Note: AD 90-02-13 had previously been accomplished). An m or d report will be submitted.

As the FAA filed it

ACFT RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED ON LANDING. (-23)ON TAKEOFF OUT ASG, THE R/H MLG STRUT PISTON RETAINING SNAPING WAS PROBABLY LIBERATED FROM ITS GROOVE IN THE UPPER PART OF THE STRUT PISTON, ALLOWING THE R/H STRUT TO OVER EXTENDED TO MAXIMUM TRAVEL THE R/H STRUT TORUE LINKS WOULD ALLOW.ON RETRACTION, THE OVER EXTENDED LANDING GEAR PROBABLY JAMMED ON THE INBOARD MLG DOOR.
