From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(.19) On June 15, 1999, about 1004 eastern daylight time, an experimental white Velocity xl-rg, N19DW, registered to a private individual, operating as a title 14 part 91 personal flight, crashed landed on an interstate highway following descent for landing to the Fort Pierce-st. lucie county international airport, Florida. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and no flight plan was filed. The aircraft sustained substantial damage due to collision with power lines and the private-rated pilot, the sole occupant, was not injured. The flight originated about 1 hour 4 minutes before the accident. According to Fort Pierce FAA control tower personnel, the pilot radioed at 1002 that he was a possible emergency due to low fuel and shortly thereafter, advised that he could not make the field and was landing on I-95. The pilot stated that the aircraft collided with power transmission lines on approach to the highway that caused a hard touchdown to the pavement. He stated he was 90 percent sure that the problem was a clogged fuel feed system. (-23)see attached
